Anne Connolly spoke, networked and made great connections at both the Boomer Venture Summit and IAGG Conference, San Francisco in July 2017.
The Boomer Ventures Summit (http://www.boomerventuresummit.com/index ) was held in Berkeley to coincide with the IAGG conference (see below). It brings together investors, large businesses, fast-growth start-ups in the longevity economy, particularly those with a strong technology interest. It was a great opportunity to share what's been happening in ISAX and to network.
We emerged with one exciting new corporate member of ISAX which will be announced publicly over the next month. They are a leading private US investment company, specialising in the longevity economy and in particular in the area of smart ageing technologies and ‘senior housing’.
Anne was also invited to participate in their really interesting Learning Journeys, in particular to CITRIS Centre for Technology and Ageing (http://citris-uc.org/person/david-lindeman-2/) and to CCD Innovation Centre – a strategic food and beverage innovation agency, focused on food trends, where they hosted an experiential learning lunch on nutrition and ageing (http://www.ccdinnovation.com/ )
IAGG conference (https://www.iagg2017.org/program )
Over 6,000+ delegates attended the IAGG conference on “Global Aging and Health: Bridging Science, Policy, and Practice”. It was another great opportunity to network and forge new alliances.
Following on earlier advance discussions, ISAX entered into an alliance with the Thrive Innovation Centre to provide ‘landing pads’ for fast-growth companies in the smart ageing space seeking to trade internationally. ISAX will host US fast-growth-start-ups seeking to launch into the European markets in our Smart Ageing Innovation Hub in Limerick, providing them with brokered access to key agencies and supports. Thrive will provide the same for our companies seeking entry to the US market. Watch this space for further updates.
